    2:30 - 3:30: Drive up imposition of ashes at the corner of Melrose Ave. and Elk Grove Blvd.
    4:00-4:30: Imposition of ashes and worship.
    4:30-6:00: Ashes available individually with the pastors.

    The United Church of Christ (UCC) observes Ash Wednesday as the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of spiritual preparation for Easter characterized by self-examination, prayer, and repentance. Services typically feature the imposition of ashes, often made from the previous year's palm branches, in the shape of a cross to symbolize mortality and repentance

    What is the significance of Maundy Thursday?

    On Maundy Thursday, Christians remember Jesus at the Last Supper, where, with his disciples, he predicted his betrayal and arrest. And Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, where these events occurred. This day is a significant one for Holy Week, the week of Easter.

    Good Friday is a solemn Christian observance that commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, marking the ultimate sacrifice for humanity's sins before his resurrection on Easter Sunday, symbolizing victory over sin and death. Christians observe it with fasting, prayer, and special services, reflecting on Jesus' suffering, which led to salvation.

Our worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, and our music combines modern worship songs and traditional hymns. The Bible is preached in the context of its origins and of our lives right now, cultivating wisdom for us and our world today. We do our best to use inclusive language in our worship music, as well as in our communal prayers, congregational participation, and scripture readings. 

Children’s Ministry

Sundays

We offer childcare and Sunday school for children from infants to sixth grade every Sunday morning. We also hold events for children and families as often as possible throughout the year, including Easter Egg hunts, movie nights, kid's camp, Vacation Bible School and Christmas caroling.
